Along with the launch of new online system for Hazardous Chemical Registration by NRCC-SAWS, 3,466 hazardous chemicals incorporated into the new system have been made available to the public for reference. This online available version could be regarded as a draft of the long-expected revised “Catalogue of Hazardous Chemicals”. Through the comparison between the “revised Catalogue” and the Catalogue of Hazardous Chemicals (2002), a clear downsize could be observed since the 2002 version contains 3,815 entries. More importantly, more than 500 chemicals which were not listed in the 2002 version are included in the revised draft of the Catalogue.
According to a brief analysis, some statistical conclusions could be summarized as follows:
2,942 chemical substances in the “revised catalogue” are listed with their CAS numbers;
A total of 2051 entries in the “revised Catalogue” have found their match in the 2002 version(only considers the chemicals with one CAS numbers);
Addition of more than 500 chemicals with CAS number in the “revised Catalogue” were previously not included 2002 version;
Note: the above conclusion could be imprecise due to the fact that the analysis only considers the chemicals with CAS number(see the picture below)
Besides, the “revised Catalogue” consists of the chemicals mostly from:
“Catalogue of Hazardous Chemicals (2002)”;
“Inventory of Chinese Highly Toxic Chemicals (2002 amendment);
Recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods and
Other hazardous chemicals not listed above but identified and declared hazardous by relevant national departments;
