On May 14, 2025, New Hampshire's Governor Ayotte signed the House Bill 167 on Prohibiting the sale of ski, boat, and board waxes that contain intentionally added per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances. This new act shall take effect on July 13, 2025.
On August 2, 2024, New Hampshire House Bill 1649 adopted the PFAS ban covering a variety of consumer products. The product ban was set to take effect on January 1, 2027.
HB 167 amends RSA 149-M:64, IV by including "waxes produced for use on boats, skis, surfboards, bodyboards, or skimboards" under the scope of the PFAS ban. So far, the prohibitions cover the following product categories:

The following are exempted from the PFAS ban:
Products made with at least 85 percent recycled content.
Products manufactured prior to the ban.
Replacement parts for products manufactured prior to the ban.
The Department of Environmental Services may request the manufacturer or supplier to furnish a certificate of compliance to demonstrate product compliance.
