From 3 to 6 October 2023, the Chemical Review Committee of the Rotterdam Convention is scheduled to convene for its 19th session in Rome, Italy. This meeting will be held consecutively with the 19th meeting of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee of the Stockholm Convention.
At its 19th meeting, the Committee will consider drafting decision guidance documents for methyl bromide and paraquat. Once approved by the Conference of the Parties, these two pesticides will be listed in Annex III and subject to the Prior Informed Consent (PIC) procedure.
Additionally, the following notifications will be reviewed by the Committee to decide whether they should be made subject to the PIC procedure and, accordingly, be listed in Annex III:
