Taiwan’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released the revised testing methods of formaldehyde-melamine used in plastic food utensils, containers and packages on 30 October, which are taking effect on the same day. The announcement “Methods of Test for Food Utensils, Containers and Packages-Test of Plastics with Formaldehyde-Melamine as Raw Material for Synthesis” is an amendment of the previous provision of food contactant assessment established in April this year.
