Taiwan Tightens Customs Oversight on PFHxS, Its Salts and Related Compounds

Taiwan assigned new import and export regulation codes to PFHxS, its salts and related compounds from April 1, 2026, bringing these PFAS chemicals under strict customs control.

On March 19, 2026, Taiwan's International Trade Administration (ITA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) announced updates to the import and export regulations concerning perfluorohexanesulfonic acid (PFHxS), its salts and related compounds. Through the assignment of new import/export regulation codes, relevant chemical commodities are officially included in the List of Commodities Assisted by Customs for Import Examination and the List of Commodities Assisted by Customs for Export Examination, effective April 1, 2026.
