Turkey to Lift Ban on Use of Recycled Plastics in Food Contact Materials

Turkey is updating its food contact materials regulations to allow recycled plastics and streamline reprocessing of by-products.

On September 15, 2025, Turkey notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of a draft legislative amendment to its Turkish Food Codex Regulation on Materials and Articles in Contact with Food (G/TBT/N/TUR/89/Add.1). The deadline for comments on this addendum is November 13, 2025.
