Taiwan to Regulate Ammonium Nitrate and Hydrogen Fluoride as Concerned Chemicals
Taiwan EPA proposed to list ammonium nitrate and hydrogen fluoride as the second and third concerned chemicals, following the previous designation of nitrous oxide as the first concerned chemical on October 30, 2020. It is now subject to a period of public consultation lasting 60 days.

Guangdong Province Consults on the Grading Rules for Key VOCs Industries
The grading rules for 13 key industries are specified, including oil refining and petrochemical, coating manufacturing, ink manufacturing, packaging and printing, etc. Enterprises in such industries will be classified into A, B, and C three levels according to the rules.

Japan JCII Embarks upon FCM Product Registration Service Starting from Apr. 1
Japan JCII newly established Food Contact Materials Safety Center by incorporating responsibility of JHOSPA, JHPA,JHAVDC, which aims to optimize the management of food contact materials. Starting from April 1st , 2021, enterprises are allowed to apply for "compliance certificate" of food contact materials and articles (FCM) with JCII. The issuance of the certificate indicates that FCM products conform to the voluntary standards.

South Korea Publishes 130 Biocidal Active Substances Subject to Simplified Approval
On February 23, 2021, South Korea’s Ministry of Environment (MoE) updated the list of biocidal active substances subject to simplified approval under the Safety Control Act on Household Chemical Products and Biocidal Products (K-BPR). The number of substances increases from 115 to 130.
