On July 31, 2019, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Ministry of the Environment (MOE), and Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) released the Joint Notice No.2 [1], announcing the names, serial numbers, and MITI numbers of 210 new chemical substances under the Chemical Substance Control Law (CSCL).

On July 23, 2019, Hainan Province issued a Notice to seek public feedback on the Inventory of Single-use Non-biodegradable Plastics Prohibited from Production, Sale and Use (Batch1) [1]. The Inventory comprises two parts, i.e. single-use films and bags which contain non-biodegradable polymer materials like PE, PP, PS, PVC, EVA and PET, and single-use tableware containing non-biodegradable polymer materials.

China Releases 2019 List of Hazardous Chemicals Prohibited from Inland Waterway Transport

In late May 2019, the Ministry of Transport (MOT), Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE), Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and the Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM) jointly issued the List of Hazardous Chemicals Prohibited from Inland Waterway Transport (2019). [1] The newly revised list took effect immediately upon its release, and the 2015 version was abrogated at the same time.
