Taiwan Starts Inspections on over 2,000 Enterprises Handling CMRs

The Taiwan Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Ministry of Labor (MoL) has made CMRs exposure precaution a key priority for occupational disease prevention in the following five years (2022-2027). As a follow-up, the MoL issued a notification in December last year, announcing that inspections would be carried out since 2022 on enterprises and sites handling substances possessing CMR Category 1.

Taiwan Publishes Revision to Regulation of Priority Management Chemicals (Updated)

Taiwan published the revison to Regulations Governing Designating and Handling of Priority Management Chemicals on November 5, 2021, designed to tighten controls over the handling of priority management substances which may pose serious hazards to the health and safety of workers.

Taiwan Requires Additional Operational Information on Specific Priority Management Chemicals

On 12th September 2019, Taiwan Occupational Safety and Health Authority under MoL issued a notice requiring submission of additional operational information from the handling enterprises of 10 designated priority management chemicals. The additional information should be submitted through the online PRochem platform before 15th November 2019. The affected chemicals are shown in Table 1.
