China RoHS to Apply New Testing Standards

China's National Certification and Accreditation Administration has announced to adjust the applicable testing method standards for conformity assessment on China RoHS 2. Specifically, the existing GB/T 26125-2011 Electrical and Electronic Products- Determination of Six Regulated Substances (Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium, Polybrominated Biphenyls, Polybrominated) will be replaced by the GB/T 39560 series

EU Releases New Rules for Ozone-Depleting Substances

The Council of the European Union has adopted Regulation (EU) 2024/590 on substances that deplete the ozone layer published in the Official Journal of the European Union on February 20, 2024. The Regulation shall ensure the obligations introduced under the existing Regulation (EC) No 1005/2009 are fully implemented, and that more action is taken on limiting the emissions caused by ozone depleting substances (ODS). It shall enter into force on March 11, 2024 and Regulation (EC) No 1005/2009 will be repealed.

EU Unveils New F-Gases Regulation

EU’s new rules on fluorinated gases (F-gases) (Regulation (EU) 2024/573) were endorsed by the European Parliament and the European Council and were published in the Official Journal of the Union on February 20, 2024. The Regulation shall enter into force on March 11, 2024 and the existing Regulation (EU) No517/2014 will be repealed.
