China Consults on the Inventory of Priority Controlled Chemicals (Second Batch)

China has proposed to add 19 kinds of chemicals to the draft inventory of chemicals subject to priority control measures. The management measures for the environmental risks of priority controlled chemicals are adjusted.

China Approves the Revision to Law on Prevention and Control of the Solid Waste Pollution
May 06, 2020
The revised Law detailed the requirements for treatment on industrial solid waste and hazardous waste. Management on medical solid waste, sorting system for municipal solid waste, and reducing excessive packaging are also stipulated in the revision. The revision is scheduled to enter into effect on September 1, 2020.

Thailand Specifies Requirements for Declaration of Hazardous Substances under the Authorization of DIW

The draft specifies that a declaration is required when the stakeholders engage in storage, manufacturing, import, export activities above 100kg per half-year. The list of hazardous substances that are subject to the declaration has been updated.

Thailand DIW Consults on 3 Implementation Specifications under the Hazardous Substance Act
Apr 16, 2020
Thailand DIW is currently consulting on three draft regulations under HAS, which includes: the exemption conditions under the Act, the exemption conditions of List 5.6 substances, and the inclusion criteria for List 5.6 Hazardous Substance. The consultation will conclude on April 30. Online submission, telephone feedback, and email feedback are all available.

Vietnam Updates the List of Banned and Restricted Active Ingredients in Insecticide and Disinfectant

On March 19, 2020, the World Trade Organization (WTO) issued a Notification to solicit comments from members on Vietnam's draft Circular which promulgated the List of active ingredients banned from use and restricting the scope of insecticide and disinfectant registration for household and medical use. According to the Notification, the consultation will last for 60 days, and the draft Circular is scheduled for adoption in June and will finally enter in force on August 1.
