China Revises GB 30871 for Safety Specifications of Special Work in Hazardous Chemicals Enterprises

On March 15, 2022, China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and Standardization Administration (SAC) published the amendments of the GB 30871-2014 Safety Code of Special work in Chemical Manufactory, which is renamed as Safety Specifications of Special Work in Hazardous Chemicals Enterprises (GB 30871-2022). It will come into force on October 1, 2022.

On November 29, Shanghai Emergency Management Bureau published the Guidelines for the Use Safety Management of Hazardous Chemicals in Industrial and Trade Enterprises in Shanghai (Trial) (hereafter referred to as the Guideline). The Guidelines will come into force on January 1, 2022, and will be valid for two years.

China Releases Revised Measures on the Management of Transfer of Hazardous Waste

Transfer of hazardous waste in China has been managed according to the Measures for the Management of Hazardous Waste Transfer Manifests since 1999. To meet the new requirements set in the revised Law on Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste (2020) that the transfer of hazardous waste shall be managed throughout the whole process in a more efficient manner, it was revised and renamed as the Measures on the Management of Transfer of Hazardous Waste (hereinafter referred to as Measures). The consultation version of it was published on October 21, 2020 for public comments. The new Measures was published on November 30, 2021, and will take effect on January 1, 2022.
