China Shandong Pushes Forward Hazchem QR Codes Application

On August 31, 2022, the Department of Emergency Management of Shandong, China issued the official document to outline the measures and targets for the Hazchem QR code application in Shandong province. It is noted in the document that hazardous chemicals manufactured or imported in Shandong must be attached with the Hazchem QR code.

On August 8, 2022, Shanghai Municipal Transport Commission, jointly with the Shanghai Emergency Management Bureau and Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, unveiled the Notification on Further Strengthening Management for Road Transport and Storage of Dangerous Goods (Hazardous Chemicals) in Shanghai, which has come into force from August 15, 2022.

Dangerous Goods to Be Declared within 24 Hours before Arriving at Shanghai Port

On June 24, 2022, the Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) issued the Notification on Further Strengthening the Safety Management for Hazardous Chemicals Containers. The Notification stipulates that from July 1, 2022 the shipping companies and agents involving certain hazardous chemicals shall declare their dangerous goods via email within 24 hours prior to arriving at Shanghai port.

The SN/T 0370-2021 serial standards for inspection of export packaging of dangerous goods will come into force on June 1, 2022, replacing the SN/T 0370-2009 serial standards that have been in effect since 2010.
