Australia Requires Information on 522 PFAS Chemicals

Registrants are required to provide certain information if they have imported and/or manufactured any of 522 PFAS chemicals during the 2023–24 and 2024–25 AICIS registration years.

The Executive Director of the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) has initiated an evaluation - EVA00204 on the introduction (import/manufacture) and use of per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). EVA00204 targets 522 PFAS chemicals listed in the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals (AIIC). On October 14, 2025, the AICIS issued a notice to require stakeholders to provide information on these PFAS chemicals, thereby considering which chemicals should be the subject of further evaluation.
