Australia is consulting on and notifying the WTO of proposed IChEMS Schedule 7 listings that will effectively ban PFHpS, PFNS, PFDS, their related substances and 2,4,6-Tri-tert-butylphenol, with phased-in prohibitions from 2027 and limited exemptions and UTC limits.
On 23 March 2026, Australia's Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) opened a public consultation on the proposed scheduling decisions for 14 classes of industrial chemicals under the Industrial Chemicals Environmental Management Standard (IChEMS). The consultation will close on April 24, 2026.
