Canada Publishes Framework for Risk Assessment of Manufactured Nanomaterials

On March 5, 2026, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and Health Canada (HC) officially published the Framework for the Risk Assessment of Manufactured Nanomaterials (NMs) under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA). This document describes how the ECCC and HC conducts risk assessments of nanomaterials under CEPA to account for the unique characteristics exhibited by these substances.
