China MEM Mandates Safety Supervision and Licensing for Five Newly Listed Hazardous Chemicals

China’s Ministry of Emergency Management has added five substances to the Inventory of Hazardous Chemicals (2015) and requires all enterprises handling them to complete hazardous chemical registration and obtain the corresponding licenses by July 31, 2026.

On April 28, 2026, the General Office of China's Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM) issued an official notice mandating strict safety supervision for five chemicals recently added to the Inventory of Hazardous Chemicals (2015). The directive requires enterprises handling these substances to finalize hazardous chemical registrations and secure appropriate hazardous chemical licenses by July 31, 2026.
