On April 15, 2022, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) released the national standardGB/T 41411-2022 Children's Watches (hereinafter referred to as the Standard), which will come into force on November 01, 2022.
The Standard applies to children's quartz watches and smart watches, and can be used as reference for other kinds of children's watches. It stipulates quality requirements, test methods, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of children's watches. To enhance chemical safety, the Standard stipulates limits on migratable elements and plasticizers in accessible parts of children's watches. Details are shown in the tables below.

In addition, SAMR released a batch of standards on children’s products e.g., GB/T 41002-2022 General Specification for Children's Case and Bag, GB/T 22793-2022 Test Method for Safety Performance of Children's High Chairs, GB/T 41435-2022 Determination of Boric Acid and Salts of Boric Acid in Toy Materials —Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry etc.
