Implementation of "China REACH" Begins

Zhao Peisheng, Director of Solid Waste Center, Zhejiang Environmental Protection Bureau, the local government department responsible for the implementation of "Measures on Environmental Management of New Chemical Substance"(China REACH) in Zhejiang, published several new advisory steps for compliance with this regulation:

  • The Chinese government established the legislative framework for chemical substances in 2011 and the Measures on Environmental Management of New Chemical Substance is important part of this chemical management system. In 2012, the government aims to stringently enforce the regulation, and in 2013, the government will focus on the regulatory part.

  • Zhejiang Environmental Protection Bureau has already begun the dangerous chemical substance supervision process within chemical companies, and the expert regulatory team will report to the Environmental Protection Bureau this October.

  • The Zhejiang Environmental Protection Bureau will start training courses on the "Measures on Environmental Management of New Chemical Substance" and related regulations for companies in the near future. REACH24H will be the co-organizer for these seminars that will provide practical knowledge and case studies to comply with the regulations.
