Indonesia Releases Draft Regulation for Food Contact Materials

The revised draft introduces requirements for clearer migration limits, positive and prohibited substance lists, granting the industry a five-year period to comply.

The Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan or BPOM) has recently published the revised draft regulation concerning Food Contact Materials (FCMs) and articles, which is set to repeal and replace the existing BPOM Regulation No. 20 of 2019 on Food Packaging.
