Japan Issues Revised New Chemical Test Guidelines under CSCL

On Dec 21, Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) published the Partially Revised New Chemical Test Guidelines, which was formulated based on the revisions made to the OECD Test Guidelines in Oct, 2012 and Oct, 2014 relating to bioaccumulation in fish, partition coefficient (1-octanol/water), chromosome aberration test and micronucleus test. In addition, the test report formats of bioaccumulation in fish, partition coefficient (1-octanol/water) and chromosome aberration have been modified accordingly.The new guidelines will be implemented on Mar 21, 2016. Tests for new chemical notification under Japan CSCL already carried out or having being initiated before the specified date should follow the current guidelines.
