Japan Plans to Add 40 Priority Assessment Chemical Substances

On 8 Oct 2013, Japan METI published another 40 Priority Assessment Chemicals (PACs), which are planned to be added into the PACs List. There are already 140 substances in the PACs List.

According to Japan Chemical Substance Control Law (CSCL), Manufacturers and importers of PACs must report to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) the quantities they produced or imported in the previous year and also need to let the consumers know the substances they use are PACs or the products contain PACs.
