Issued on 12 Oct 2018 by MoE Notice No.2018-748, South Korea’s Ministry of Environment is now consulting on two lists of “substances subject to priority management” under K-REACH. The consultation will end by 1 Nov 2018.
The first list contains 785 substances, and the second list contains 410 substances. It is proposed that first list will be implemented on 1 Apr 2019 and the second list will be adopted two years thereafter. Please click here to download the lists.
According to the revised K-REACH (to be effective on 1 Jan 2019), carcinogenic, mutagenic or reproductive toxic substances (CMR), persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic substances (PBT), endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) or substances that can cause damage to the lungs, liver and other organs, namely substances of specific target organ toxicity (STOT), etc. will be designated as “substances subject to priority management” and require notification of products containing the priority substances (if the quantity is above 1t/y and the content exceeds 0.1% w/w), including the substance name, use, content, hazards, simple exposure information, etc.
