New Zealand Opens Consultation to Restrict Three POPs: Chlorpyrifos, MCCPs and LC‑PFCAs

New Zealand EPA is consulting on restricting chlorpyrifos, MCCPs and LC-PFCAs in line with their recent listing as POPs under the Stockholm Convention, with limited exemptions for critical uses of MCCPs and LC-PFCAs.

On 16 March 2026, the New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) opened a public consultation on a proposal to restrict three persistent organic pollutants (POPs), following their listing under the Stockholm Convention in May 2025. Submissions can be made online, via email, or by post until the April 17 deadline.
