The Philippines Issued CCO on Arsenic and Its Compounds

The Philippines issued a CCO on arsenic and its compounds. Registration with DENR-EMB and obtaining importation clearance is required for arsenic and its compounds

The Philippine Environment Management Bureau (EMB) under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has issued Chemical Control Orders (CCOs) for Arsenic and Arsenic Compounds (DAO 2019-17). 

In the Philippines, arsenic compounds are already included in the Priority Chemicals List (PCL) and therefore subject to compliance obligations such as PCL certification and so on. The chemical control order will impose more obligations. 

The importer, manufacturer, distributor, and user of arsenic and its compounds shall register with EMB and acquire a permit. For importation, an importation clearance shall also be obtained in advance. The SDS and label of arsenic and its compounds shall be prepared according to GHS requirements promulgated by EMB.
