South Korea Amends K-REACH Enforcement Decree to Streamline Data Sharing Disputes and OR Transitions

South Korea has amended the K-REACH Enforcement Decree to establish a formal dispute resolution mechanism for joint registration data, ensure seamless succession of Only Representatives, expand SME support, and update the IT system for related procedures.

On May 6, 2026, the South Korean government promulgated Presidential Decree No. 36304, partially amending the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Registration and Evaluation, etc. of Chemical Substances (a.k.a. K-REACH Enforcement Decree). The main purpose of this amendment is to introduce a formal dispute resolution mechanism for the joint submission of chemical registration data and to ensure the seamless succession of legal duties when overseas manufacturers change their appointed representatives.
