South Korea’s National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) announced the addition of a single substance into South Korea’s Toxic Chemical Substance List (TCSL) and GHS Classification list on 17 Feb 2015 by NIER Notice No.2015-4. The changes became effective immediately after the issuance of the NIER Notice. The details of the substance are summarized in Table as below.

South Korea has developed a National Chemicals Information System for online search of substance information using KE No., CAS No., or chemical name. Chemical companies can use it to judge whether a substance is classified as existing or new. In addition, the search results also classify the substance based on its toxicity (toxic/non-toxic) or any associated restrictions (prohibited/restricted).
Since the implementation of K-REACH and CCA on 1st Jan 2015, Section 15 of Korea SDS should also be revised accordingly. The regulatory titles should be updated to include K-REACH and CCA in place of the original TCCA.
