China Initiates Revision of GB 38508 Standard for VOC Content Limits in Cleaning Agent
China has officially commenced the revision process for its mandatory national standard, GB 38508-2020 Limits for volatile organic compounds content in cleaning agents. The National Standardization Administration Committee formally announced the revision plan for GB 38508 in March 2026. In alignment with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) overall standardization agenda, the revision is slated for completion within 2026.

By NICS Notice No. 2026-37, the NICS publicizes the hazard assessment results for 79 registered new chemical substances, the modification of hazard assessment results for 34 previously listed new chemical substances and 13 previously listed existing chemical substances, the modification of given numbers for 18 previously listed existing chemicals due to the acquisition of supplementary data, and the adjustment of hazard information on one previously listed existing chemical substance.
