South Korea Implements OSHA Revisions for MSDS Preparation Using CBI-Protected Substance Information

On September 27, 2023, the Ministry of Employment and Labor of South Korea (MoEL) promulgated the partial revision to the Enforcement Rules of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA). The revised Article 162 stipulates that manufacturers and importers are allowed to directly use alternative chemical names and content ranges for CBI-protected substances to prepare the MSDS for a mixture containing them.

South Korea Delays New Restrictions for Strontium Chromate in Coatings (Updated on Dec 20, 2022)

South Korea’s Ministry of Environment (MoE) is consulting until December 4, 2022 on a draft amendment to the Restricted Chemical Substances List by MoE Notice No. 2022-627. As proposed, the ministry will delay the implementation date of the new restrictions for a chromium (6+) compound – strontium chromate (CAS No.7789-06-2).
