Australia Consults on Listing PFAS and PeCB in IChEMS Register Schedule 7, Prohibitions Will Apply

Australian Government proposed to list PFOA, PFOS, PFHxS and PeCB in IChEMS Register Schedule 7. If adopted, they will be prohibited from import, export, manufacture or use within Australia.

EU Approves New Regulation on Batteries and Waste Batteries(Updated on July 10, 2023)

On July 10, 2023, the Council of the European Union adopted the new regulation on batteries. The regulation will now be signed by the Council and the European Parliament. It will then be published in the EU' s Official Journal and enter into force 20 days after.

On June 12, 2023, China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the Notice to Issue Recommended List of Alternatives for Recommended List of Alternatives for Ozone Depleting Substances in China, aiming to accelerate the phase-out of HCFCs as mandated by the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
