On April 2, 2025, the AICIS opened a public consultation on 18 draft evaluation statements. The consultation period will end on May 29, 2025. It aims to get feedback from stakeholders on the following content:
The reason(s) for the evaluation;
Details of our risk assessment, including hazard and exposure assessment, approach and conclusions;
Risk recommendations;
National or international concerns;
Proposed regulatory changes, such as adding a specific condition to the certificate or the item in the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals (AIIC).
The AICIS also welcome any new information about the evaluation subjects. The table below lists the draft evaluation statements for public consultation this time.

Under the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019, any substance that qualifies as an industrial chemical (or a group of industrial chemicals) may undergo evaluation. This includes:
Chemicals that are already listed on the AIIC.
Chemicals that are introduced under the assessed, reported, or exempted introduction categories.
Chemicals that are introduced under a commercial evaluation authorization.
Chemicals that are excluded from the requirement to fall within one of the authorised introduction categories.
Each evaluation statement provides introducers (manufacturers and importers) and the public with information about any identified risks and the measures for managing those risks.
