China MEE Adds 8 Substances into IECSC

On July 7, 2021, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) announced that 8 chemical substances [1] were included into the Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances (IECSC).

This is the fourth batch of existing substances that were added into the inventory after the IECSC supplementation window was reopened in June 2019  (CL news [2]).  The other three batches were included into the IECSC last year and earlier this year, including:

These substances were manufactured in or imported into China before October 15, 2003, which fulfilled the IECSC supplementation criteria but missed the previous supplementation window. They are now regulated as existing chemical substances in China, and thus free from new chemical registration or notification requirements under the Measures for the Environmental Management Registration of New Chemical Substances [3](MEE Order No. 12) .
