China National Registration Center for Chemicals, a.k.a. NRCC, recently launched a pilot site for Public Service Internet Platform of National Hazardous Chemicals Safety (国家危险化学品安全公共服务互联网平台) (hereinafter “Platform”). The Platform provides related information of the registered hazardous chemicals to the public, and offers technical and data support to relevant enterprises, institutions and government organizations in safety consultancy and emergency response.
The Platform consists of 5 parts:
Retrieval platform for chemical registration

Retrieval platform for chemical registration:
According to SAWS Order 53, manufacturers and importers of hazardous chemicals shall be subject to the registration system. The retrieval platform provides data on registered enterprises and their registered chemical information.
By searching company name, the system outputs the company location, type (manufacturer/importer), emergency response number and registration validity
By searching registered chemicals using CAS number, Chinese name, English name or registry number, the companies who registered the chemical will be listed.
Clicking on an entry chemical information provided outputs information including label elements (GHS classification, signal word, pictogram, and precautionary statement), emergency response information and main applications, and chemical data stored in the NRCC including label element, physical-chemical properties, hazardous information and emergency response, and the inventories the chemical is listed in.
Information platform for chemical safety
By searching chemicals using Chinese name, English name or CAS number, the system will output chemical GHS classification information.
Emergency information
There is an emergency response hotline that includes a 24H emergency telephone number, online and offline consultants, etc. It provides emergency information services to the public and enterprises, as well as technical support to the Ministry of Public Safety, fire department, National Emergency Operation Center and other relevant national organizations. It also provides a Q&A center, in which questions are raised by public and addressed by experts.
Policies and Regulations:
Hazardous chemical laws/regulations/standards are stored for easy search and study.
Correlative knowledge & information of hazardous chemicals
It provides chemical inventory collection, FAQs, hazardous chemical accident information and educational videos. To sum up, the platform basically offers all information connected with hazardous chemicals in the supply chain.
