EU Considers Tightening Export and Import Control of Dechlorane Plus, Methoxychlor and UV-328

EU is updating its PIC regulation to include several POPs like Dechlorane Plus, methoxychlor and UV-328 that are already regulated under the Stockholm Convention.

The European Union has launched a public consultation on the revision of Regulation (EU) No 649/2012 concerning the export and import of hazardous chemicals (EU PIC Regulation). This initiative aims to update the existing regulation in line with recent developments in Union law and international conventions, including the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) and the Rotterdam Convention on the prior informed consent procedure for certain hazardous chemicals and pesticides in international trade.
