Chinese Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals (2nd version)

The Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals (2nd ver) consists of four volumes, covering 165 testing items and 186 testing methods. Volume 1 was published on 1 Jun 2013, followed by the other three volumes in Sep. The 2nd version updated 34 testing methods from the 1st version and added 68 testing methods widely adopted at home and abroad. An additional 17 testing methods which apply to the physical hazards of UN GHS have been incorporated into the 2nd version to cover items not previously covered under China GHS.

The revised Guidelines will be the technical reference for the data generation of China New chemical substance notification (China NCSN, a.k.a China REACH). It will serve as guidance for hazard evaluation, risk assessment, GHS classification and constructing labs in compliance with GLP, etc.

The Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals (2nd ver) were formulated with reference to the OECD guidelines for chemical testing. The four volumes are in Chinese only. Chemlinked in colloboration with our external experts are formulating a comparison table (EN/CN available) detailing the key differences between the OECD guidelines and the Chinese guidelines which is expected to be finished by the end of this year. If you are interested in a full translation or a more tailored translation service, a translated table of content of the four volumes is available to facilitate individual selection of chapters of interest .
