On November 19, 2024, India's Department of Chemical and Petrochemicals (DCPC) notified on the Gazette of India to amend the Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Styrene (ABS) (Quality Control) Order, 2021.
As per the Amendment, this QCO shall not apply to ABS Moulding and Extrusion Materials used for production of toco transducers.
The Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Styrene (ABS) (Quality Control) Order, 2021 was released by DCPC on September 13, 2021 and has been in force since June 12, 2023.
The QCOs do not apply to chemicals for export only (click here to know more about exemptions). The chemical products conforming to the requirements of the Orders shall bear the Standard Mark under the Grant of License by the Bureau of Indian Standards. Any person who contravenes the provisions of the Orders shall be punished according to the Bureau of Indian Standards Act (BIS Act), 2016.
