Manufacturers are no longer required to apply for BIS certification for various chemicals, polymers and textiles.

DCPC stated that the withdrawl is deemed necessary to meet the public interest after consulting with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

With the withdrawal of these QCOs, manufacturers will no longer need to obtain a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards or ensure their products bear the Standard Mark.
