The India's Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC) has officially withdrawn the Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for various chemicals, polymers and textiles, effective from November 12, 2025.
This decision withdraws the QCOs for the following products:
100 Percent Polyester Spun Grey and White Yarn (Quality Control) Order, 2023
Polyester Continuous Filament Fully Drawn Yarn (Quality Control) Order, 2023
Polyester Partially Oriented Yarn (Quality Control) Order, 2023
Polyethylene Material for Moulding and Extrusion (Quality Control) Order, 2022
Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Styrene (ABS) (Quality Control) Order, 2021
Polypropylene (PP) Materials for Moulding and Extrusion (Quality Control) Order, 2024
Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Homopolymers (Quality Control) Order, 2024
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Copolymers (Quality Control) Order, 2022
DCPC stated that the withdrawl is deemed necessary to meet the public interest after consulting with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
With the withdrawal of these QCOs, manufacturers will no longer need to obtain a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards or ensure their products bear the Standard Mark.
