Inventory Update: Australia Adds 7 Chemicals to AIIC and Revokes CBI Approval of 2 Chemicals

On December 13 and December 15 of 2022, the Australian Government issued two notices to declare some updates of the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals (AIIC).

According to Notice I, 7 chemicals have been added to AIIC in accordance with Section 82 of the Industrial Chemical Act 2019. Five years have passed since the assessment certificates were issued. Below are the details of the 7 chemicals.

According to Notice II, the Australian Government revoked the CBI approval for the proper name of 2 industrial chemical in the AIIC. These industrial chemicals are:

Chemical substances that are listed in the AIIC can be introduced by any registered introducers (importers or mmanufacturers). According to the Industrial Chemical Act 2019, introducers shall apply for registration before introducing an industrial chemical to Australia during a registration year (goes from September 1 to August 31). For chemicals not listed in AIIC, introducers shall apply to the Executive Director for an assessment certificate for the introduction of such industrial chemicals.
