Japan Small Amount New Chemicals Notification to Begin in 2017

On Dec 14th 2016, Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW), Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Ministry of the Environment (MOE) issued a joint notice, announcing the notification window for the 1st batch of small amount new chemicals under Chemical Substance Control Law (CSCL) in 2017.

The scope of this notification is new chemical substances that are manufactured in or imported into Japan with a total amount of less than 1 ton/year (from Apr 1st 2017 to Mar 31st 2018). The notification will start from Jan 20th 2017 and end on Jan 30th 2017. The notification of small amount new chemicals is held four times a year.
