25 priority existing chemical substances (PECs) subject to joint registration under the Act on the Registration and Evaluation of Chemicals (K-REACH) recently finished their Lead Registrant (LR) election. The task force for K-REACH on 26 May of 2016 published the corresponding LR election results.
This is the fifth round of LR election. In addition to the publication of LR election results for 25 PECs, 2 PECs that previously finished LR election (elected in the first and second round respectively) were deleted. Their elected LRs chose to opt out. The two substances and their elected LRs are:
CAS No. | Chemical Name | Date of LR Election | LR’s Name |
7664-39-3 | Hydrogen fluoride ; Hydrofluoric acid | 6 Jan, 2016 | Nasco |
84-69-5 | 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid diisobutyl ester | 19 Feb, 2016 | BASF (Korea) |
The previous four rounds of LR election are reported as below.
The first batch of PECs includes 510 substances which require K-REACH joint registration before 30 Jun of 2018. So far only 202 PECs have finished their LR election. The LR election should be accelerated for the remaining 308 PECs.
The list of 202 PECs is accessible here, with chemical English name, CAS No., LR’s name in Korean and election date. Some LRs are registering more than one substance and some names of LRs are confidential.
