South Korea Consults on Updates to GHS Classification List

Published on 29 Dec 2017 by NIER Notice No.2017-436, South Korea’s National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) is now consulting on updates to the GHS Classification List.

The classification information, pictograms, hazard statements, M factors or UN No., of the following substances will be revised, including

  • 9 toxic substances: Given No. 97-1-111, 97-1-134, 97-1-203, 97-1-208, 97-1-283, 2001-1-524, 2011-1-619, 2014-1-700, 2017-1-764

  • 1 prohibited substance: Given No. 06-4-30

In addition, 22 toxic substances (Given No. 2017-1-811~2017-1-832) and 28 accident precaution chemicals (Given No. 70~97) will be newly added to South Korea’s GHS Classification List. The 22 substances were issued by MoE Notice No. 2017-784 on 23 Nov 2017 for public consultation to be appended to South Korea’s Toxic Chemical Substance List (CL news).
