On May 26, 2020, the Ministry of Environment (MoE) published a list of pre-registered substances[1] under K-REACH. So far, a total of 179,793 pre-registration applications were submitted for 16,905 chemical substances.
For each pre-registered substance, the MoE provides the number of pre-registrations, maximum tonnage band, hazard classification information, etc. It also indicates if it is a CMR substance. The list is updated regularly .
2,663 substances were pre-registered as over 1,000 tonne per year, accounting for over 11% of the pre-registered substances. They should complete joint registration before the first registration deadline as of December 31 of 2021.
In addition, on May 28, 2020, the authority issued a list of substances that the Korea Environment Corporation (KECO) owns data (click here[2]). From May 27 to June 10, 2020, the Lead Registrant of any of these substances in total volumes of 1,000 tonnes or more a year could apply to the KECO for purchasing the data at a lower price. Please note that 163 substances[3] that have been subject to government support in joint registration are not eligible for this support project.
