Taiwan Consults on Extending PECs Registration Deadline to the End of 2023

The registration deadline of 106 PECs will be extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Registrants can obtain a registration code even if they don’t submit hazard and exposure assessment information.

A draft amendment to Taiwan’s New and Existing Chemical Registration Regulation was recently issued for a 60-day public consultation. The draft amendment if approved will grant an extended deadline for the registration of 106 priority existing chemicals (PECs). In addition, some significant changes to exemptions, data submission, registration validity, confidentiality validity, review period, etc. are proposed.
