Thailand Specifies the Notification and Licensing of Hazardous Substances Transit

The detailed notification and licensing process of hazardous substances transit are stipulated in the DIW Notice, as well as supplemented provisions for applicants. The Notice also provides the standard formats of notifications and approvals.

On December 2, 2019, Thailand Department of Industrial Work (DIW) issued a Notice [1], whose subject is rules, procedures, and conditions for requesting permission to transport hazardous substances. The requirements for the notification of hazardous substances transitting in Thailand were put forward in the fourth edition of the revised Hazardous Substances Act [2], which came into effect in October last year. The issuance of the Notice could help promote the implementation of the transit notification and standardize the permission licensing.
