Australia Removes a Wrongly Listed Chemical from AIIC (Updated on June 30, 2022)
On June 30, 2022, the Australian Government published the public consultation outcome that the wrongly listed chemical (CAS No. 1428963-39-6) would be removed from the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals (AIIC) on July 29, 2022.

Thailand: New Deadline for Declaration of Production or Importation of Annex 5.6 Hazardous Substances to the DIW
On June 27, 2022, Thailand’s Department of Industrial Works (DIW) published in the Government Gazette the revised Notification of the Department of Industrial Works Re: Declaration of the Production or Import of Hazardous Substances of Annex 5.6 under Responsibility of the DIW B.E. 2565 (2022), which will come into force on September 25 and the previous version issued in 2015 will be repealed at the same time.

China to Revise 4 Regulations Regarding Safety Management of Hazardous Chemicals
ChemLinked learnt from an MEM official that the revisions to four regulations regarding the safety management of hazardous chemicals (HC) in China have been drafted. The 4 draft revisions have been circulated in June of 2022 to emergency management administrations at various levels to solicit their comments and opinions.

South Korea Revises the Persistent Organic Pollutants Control Act
On June 10, 2022, South Korea’s Ministry of Environment (MoE) issued an announcement to make public the revision to the Persistent Organic Pollutants Control Act to further clarify the control conditions of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and strengthen the penalties against violations. The revision will come into effect on June 11, 2023.

Indonesia Revises List of Goods Prohibited from Import
On June 13, 2022, Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade (MoT) issued the Regulation No. 40 of 2022 (hereinafter referred to as the Revision), amending the Regulation of the Ministry of Trade No. 18 of 2021 on Goods Prohibited from Import and Export (MoT Reg 18/2021). The Revision took effect on June 14, 2022.
