On June 27, 2022, Thailand’s Department of Industrial Works (DIW) published in the Government Gazette the revised Notification of the Department of Industrial Works Re: Declaration of the Production or Import of Hazardous Substances of Annex 5.6 under Responsibility of the DIW B.E. 2565 (2022) (hereinafter referred to as the Notification), which will come into force on September 26 and the previous version issued in 2015 will be repealed at the same time.
At present, enterprises handling Annex 5.6 hazardous substances shall declare manufacture/import information to the DIW within 60 days since the date when they product or import such substances in quantities over 1,000 kg per year. However, after revision, the enterprises are required to declare such information of the previous calendar year (if exceeding 1,000 kg/year) before June 30 of the following year. The declaration shall be prepared in the form (WoAo./AoKo. 32) annexed to the Notification (see the figure below).
As a transition measure, in this year, the declaration made before September 26, 2022 will be accepted as well.
