EU Adds 35 Hazardous Chemicals to PIC Regulation

European Union added 35 chemicals in the Annex I of Prior Informed Consent Regulation (PIC Regulation), including 27 pesticides and 8 industrial chemicals. It shall apply from November 1, 2023.

EU Restricts the Use of Diisocyanates under REACH

Starting from August 24, 2023, diisocyanates can no longer be used on their or as a constituent in other substances or in mixtures for industrial and professional uses in concentrations equal or above 0.1% by weight, unless the user has successfully completed a training on the safe use of the substance.

Vietnam Consults on Permissible Exposure Limits for 80 Chemicals at Workplace

On August 21, 2023, Vietnam's Ministry of Health released a draft Circular XX/2024/TT-BYT, which promulgates the National Technical Regulation on Permissible Exposure Limit Value of 80 Chemicals at the Workplace (hereinafter referred to as the Regulation). The Circular is proposed to take effect from May 2024 and is now open for public consultation.

New Zealand Confirms International Regulators for Hazchem Assessment Information

New Zealand’s EPA confirmed overseas regulators for assessment information. The information from these recognised international regulators will be used to assess and reassess hazardous substances through two new pathways aimed at streamlining the processes.
