Starting from February 9, 2025, Chile REACH officially kicked off its second round of registration. Substances for non-industrial use manufactured or imported above 1t/yr are required to be notified by August 30, 2025.
Chile has just concluded first round of chemical registration by the end of 2024 and approved the first national chemical inventory through Resolution 7595/2024. Any unlisted hazardous substance for industrial use is considered a "new substance". It shall be notified prior to manufacturing or import.
How to notify substances
Since the platform for notifying chemical substances is under improvement, Chile officials have provided another submission method via e-mail. Notifiers need to follow the four steps:
Download the spreadsheet in Excel format
Complete three sections (Background, Manufactured Substance, Imported Substance), as applicable
Attach the respective Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
Submit it to the email address notificacion.sqi@mma.gob.cl
The notification process for new substances is the same as abovementioned. The Instructions are provided to guide you through this process.
