According to a notice issued on Feb 4, Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) is planning to cancel 2 priority assessment chemical substances (PACS) namely propylene oxide (CAS# 75-56-9) and n-Butyl acrylate (CAS# 141-32-2).
The decision was made based on the review opinions of the council meeting held on Jan 22, 2016. Judging from the result of Assessment II, Phase 1 risk assessment scheme, the substances mentioned above pose no risk to human health or the environment, flora and fauna.
The 2 substances will be become general chemical substances after the rescission of PACS designation. Annual notification should be submitted in 2017 to report the actual manufacture/import quantity in 2016.
