Korea Updates Hazard Assessment Results of Registered New Chemicals, 58 Entries Removed

On February 18, 2025, South Korea’s National Institute of Chemical Safety (NICS) announced the updates to the hazardous assessment results of chemicals registered under K-REACH, covering 236 previously listed entries. The updates took effect immediately.

According to NICS Announcement No.2025-5, 58 previously listed entries (Given No. 2016-176, 2016-656, 2018-380, etc.) have been removed from Annex 1 – New Chemical Substances Hazard Assessments Results due to duplications with some other registered and assessed chemicals. The duplications were found after these chemicals’ CBI approval periods expired. The given numbers of the chemicals consistent with the removed entries are provided. Besides, 178 previously registered and assessed new chemicals’ names, hazard properties and/or classification details have been updated.
